My Hubby Bakes

I skipped breakfast today. My morning just wasn’t going normal. For lunch I enjoyed a meal with my dear hubby. My parent’s took the boys for the day. It was great to spend some quiet alone time together.

Clayton made us each some tea while I roasted potatoes and grilled a tomato sandwich. We finished lunch off with a side salad.

Our family played Chinese Checkers during dinner. Dinner was a peanut butter and banana sandwich and macaroni and cheese. My husband baked chocolate cookies for dessert. They were yummy!

I didn’t go to the gym today as I had hoped. Tomorrow is the start of The Biggest Loser: OFB Style! Challenge. I thought since miles logged today on the treadmill wouldn’t count towards the challenge I should just wait till tomorrow. No excuses tomorrow though! I will head to the gym.

I was hungry all day for some odd reason. I had a few more snacks than usual but still remained with in my point range for the day so it’s all good. Eating smaller meals more often helps to boost my metabolism anyway. It’s probably a good habit to start developing.

It was another beautiful sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest.  High temperatures were around 77 °. When C got home from work we packed up the car and took the boys to the park to go swimming. I thought I’d try on an old pair of smaller size shorts to see how they fit. They were still pretty tight but I was excited because last time I tried them on I couldn’t even button them up! Another really exciting thing that happened was in the car. When I pulled my seat belt on I noticed how much more comfortable it is to do that task. Before I had to suck in as much air as I could and let my dear husband help me push the buckle into it’s slot. Today I didn’t struggle with it at all. These little tiny victories are such huge rewards for myself. They motivate me so much to keep going in the direction I am. The direction of a healthier happier me.

Last night I had an idea. I have these Firm work out tapes that I have absolutely no motivation what so ever to use. I was thinking about it last night and decided that they are a little boring. I hate exercise so I need to make it fun for me. Make it something I will enjoy. So my idea was to do the Firm tomorrow but mute the T.V. and listen to my ipod instead. It worked great. It was fun and whenever it was tough and i felt like giving up a new song came on to motivate me.

I ended up getting a lot of activity in today. The boys we driving me bonkers. They had so much energy and I didn’t know what to do with them. We needed groceries and instead of driving down the road to the store we all decided to walk. It worked, although I not only wore the boys out but I wore myself out also. It was good though.

Another awesome thing happened today. It was chilly outside today so I was looking for a jacket to wear on our walk. My usualy zipped sweatshirt was in the laundry so i went to my closet to find something. I don’t really have alot of jackets to wear. I had a few old ones in the back that are too tight for me but I love them so I keep them around. I tried one on and it fit! That totally made my day.
