A Shiny Gold Star Day

9-9-09_breakfastThis pictures doesn’t look very appetizing but it didn’t taste too bad. I don’t want to gross anyone out with too many details so let’s just say I’ve been having some pains lately and my diet would benefit from some more fiber. Super Seed by Garden of Life was recommended to me and I’m trying it out. So far I really like it. It has a nice cinnamon flavor. You can add it to anything. Today for breakfast I added it to a cup of yogurt. 5 points is a great way to start off my day.

I have a class tonight at 5 p.m. and I need to make dinner for the family early. I’m trying to plan ahead so that I don’t end up going through drive-through at the last minute. I also have a bunch of tomatoes I need to use up soon before they go bad.

9-9-09_dinner Tomato and Cheese Pizza

Six Inch flour tortilla

Non-fat cooking spray

1 tsp. Garlic powder

1/4 cup grated cheese

1 tomato, sliced

dried basil


Preheat the oven to 350 F. Place the tortilla on a baking sheet and spray with non-fat cooking spray. Sprinkle with the garlic powder then arrange the tomatoes evenly around the tortilla. Sprinkle with cheese and a dash of dried basil. Bake until the cheese just melts, 6 to 8 minutes. 7 pts.

Surprisingly this was a hit with my family. The kid’s usually hate anything with this much tomato in it but I got rave reviews tonight.

Tomorrow if I stay within my point range and I journal and blog what I eat then I will reward myself with something glittery. I need the extra motivation right now. Starting over is tough.

The boys and I took a bus yesterday to Old Fairhaven. Before we left we had a quick breakfast of cheerios and oranges.

We spent the late morning playing at the Boulavard Park. We then walked along the bridge connecting the boulavard and fairhaven. Once we reached the end of the bridge we sat and ate our lunch we had packed. We enjoyed sandwiches and a yogurt. We then walked to Fairhaven. I got the boys each an ice cream cone and I got a refreshing lemon aid from Woods Cafe.

Clayton Joined us after he got off work. We spent some more time walking around fairhaven and the Boulavard park. We turned over rocks along the water and watched the baby crabs scatter away.

Clayton drove us home and we made tacos for dinner. I made myself a taco salad. Later that evening there were some doughnuts purchased from Lafines and I had a maple bar. I didn’t record the points for the bar but I think with all the activity points I earned today and the leftover points I had from my day it worked out ok.

It was a great day!
